Nose Aesthetics

In the nose of people, there may be deformities that will affect the external appearance such as arch, low appearance, congenital or acquired curvature. These situations, which can be a problem for many people, can be eliminated with an operation known as rhinoplasty. The operation, which gives a more aesthetic appearance to the nose and therefore to the face, can also relieve the patient’s health problems such as not being able to breathe. Therefore, people who have both aesthetic concerns and respiratory distress may prefer to have nose surgery. Rhinoplasty, which takes an average of 2 hours, can be performed under local or general anesthesia upon request. Rhinoplasty, which is a simple operation, can be applied to patients older than 18 years of age and therefore have completed the developmental period.

Healing Process After Nose Surgery

After the nose surgery, a tampon is placed in the nostrils and a splint is placed on the nose. After the operation, bruises may be seen under the eyes of the patient for a while. It is possible to reduce bruising and swelling by applying ice to certain areas. Tampons are removed after one or two days, and the splint on the nose is removed after a week. For the first week following the rhinoplasty, the patient is given home rest. During this period, good protection of the nose is of great importance. One should not lie on the nose, and the upper part of it should not be touched while taking a shower. In addition, people who have had nose surgery should not wear glasses – including sunglasses – until one month after the operation. Swelling is greatly reduced in the first month after surgery. After six months, the skin returns to its original state.
